The Apraxia Foundation

Empowering Voices, Enabling Communication

The Apraxia Foundation ensures every voice matters. Join us in supporting individuals with childhood apraxia of speech and communication disorders through grants for essential AAC devices & national advocacy. Together, we make a difference.

Our Mission

“The Apraxia Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with the vision of advancing national legislation to ensure Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS) is recognized in all 50 states as a diagnosable condition with mandated insurance coverage and support services. Our mission is to secure consistent, equitable access to evidence-based speech therapy for every individual with CAS regardless of race, gender, or socioeconomic status. We empower families and communities through advocacy tools, direct support, and awareness initiatives. Through our various programs, we will actively engage in policy reform and lobbying efforts, striving to guarantee the communication rights and treatment access that every individual with CAS deserves, because communication is a basic human right.”

How We Help

Grants

At The Apraxia Foundation, we understand the financial challenges families face in accessing vital communication resources. That’s why we provide grants to help individuals afford communication devices and engage in national advocacy efforts to ensure Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS) is formally recognized and fully funded under insurance for essential speech therapy services.

Our grants offer immediate relief, while our advocacy works toward long-term, systemic change, so that every family can access the support their child needs without financial barriers.

Education

Whether it’s children navigating early developmental challenges or adults managing lifelong impacts, we assist people of all ages who have apraxia, ensuring that individuals across their lifespan receive the necessary support for effective communication.

Our goal is to empower every individual with apraxia to achieve their fullest communication potential, fostering independence and inclusion in their communities.

Fundraising Events

We also welcome anyone interested in supporting our cause to get involved. Whether you’re considering holding a fundraising event or making a donation, your contribution can make a significant difference in the lives of those we serve.

Testimonies:

AAC Grant Testimony:

I want to take a moment and thank the Apraxia Foundation for choosing my son as a grant winner. It came as a huge relief and allowed my son to receive speech therapy through the summer. He has a long road ahead of him, and I am so grateful for the support of the foundation. We are grateful for Jordan sharing his story and knowledge.

The work of the Foundation is important & making such a difference in lives!

Thank you!
